Student Life Activities Outside the Classroom Arrival at the Institute Upon arrival, program staff will be present to greet and assist students with residence hall move in. An orientation to the institute, campus and program will be provided on the first full day. Health Insurance Required medical insurance is provided. Coverage does not include pre-existing conditions or dental. Transportation Students are picked up free of charge from International Airport Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (2 hours from Winona) Climate The summer months are warm and sunny allowing for many outdoor activities. Bring appropriate light clothing. Average temperatures range from 23° C to 27°C. Activities On- and off-campus activities include: Educational and recreational field trips such as trips to visit museums, state parks and the “Mall of America,” which is the largest shopping mall in the United States Amusement parks Sporting events 4th of July celebrations Canoeing on Lake Winona Leisure activities such as enjoying the campus’ disc golf course as well as hiking and running trails - in addition to bowling, swimming, tennis, soccer, and volleyball Tours of local sites Picnics Special celebrations and movie outings Campus facilities are available for student use. These include the ice arena, athletic center featuring a pool, a multi-purpose arena (basketball, volleyball, tennis courts), track and aerobics/fitness center. Housing and Food Service Accommodation is in a modern residence hall (shared double rooms) in close proximity to the institute’s classrooms. Bedding and laundry facilities are provided. All meals included.
