New Village Apartments

The New Village is located next to a wooded area on the edge of campus, near the new track and field and soccer complex. This hall is a series of two-story, two-bedroom apartments. Four same-sex students share each apartment, and a total of 105 students live there. To live in the New Village, you must be of junior or senior status or at least 21 years of age. The New Village enables students to experience apartment living while maintaining the benefits of on campus living.

Open to

Junior and Senior or 21+ year-old males and females

Common areas included in the New Village

• laundry room with three washers and four dryers (fifty cents per load).

Residents of each apartment share one private bathroom.

Layout

Each complex is furnished with window blinds, fluorescent lighting and carpet.

• desks and desk chairs
• couch and arm chair for living room
• coffee table, end table, table lamp and floor lamp (in most villages) for living room
• air-conditioning
• phone
• cable and internet hook-up (including access to the SMU wireless network)
• kitchen appliances: full size refrigerators and apartment size stoves

Most villages have apartment size stoves, though we are gradually switching to larger ones. The following apartments have been upgraded to large stoves: 201, 210, 215 and 220.
