Position Responsibilities
The Application Manager is responsible for performing senior professional level systems analysis and project management activities which include: planning, designing, implementing and maintaining university-wide applications and computer systems. The Application Manager collaborates with functional areas to determine requirements, conduct process analyses, recommend solutions and prioritize implementation. This position serves as the primary contact and liaison for the ERP systems with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform project management and lead project teams responsible for hardware and software implementations and upgrades; determine project scope and staff resources required to complete projects; prepare project work plans and timelines
  • Assess and document process requirements and data flow
  • Create and maintain standards, procedures, and documentation related to area of responsibility
  • May participate in computer audits and perform testing for disaster recovery processes, ensuring a secure processing environment that protects the integrity and availability of information
  • Manage the University’s change management process related to ERP system configurations and customizations
  • Serve as the liaison and primary contact with university personnel and ERP software vendors to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
  • Implement system changes and administer access to systems and information utilizing approved information technology security policies, standards and guidelines
  • Ensure timely issue resolution related to users, servers/desktops, database management software, operating systems, and/or ERP application software systems through cooperative relationship with the IT Director and other IT Managers
  • Supervise staff as required by individual position
  • Assist with data integration and manipulation into multiple applications including ERP, CRM, AD, Gmail, etc.
  • Administer databases for all the University enterprise applications
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Maintain highly-organized documentation on systems, evaluations, approved changes, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL including packages, triggers, stored procedures, indexing, storage management, and constraints
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, Visual Basic, PHP, classic ASP.
  • Excellent understanding of coding best practices and documentation
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot, research, and resolve complex computer system problems
  • Effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing to all levels of the University.
  • Leadership orientation and professional demeanor that demonstrates tact and diplomacy
  • Availability for occasional off-hour and weekend support for special events
  • Able to travel periodically between campus locations

Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Information Technology, or related discipline. Three years of systems administration experience, including one year of supervisory experience. 
Master's Degree and or certifications in one or more of the following: A+, MCP, MCSE, MCDA, MCSD is preferred.
