Position Responsibilities
The Assistant Women's Hockey Coach will work within the University mission to provide a competitive, unique, and memorable collegiate athletic experience for our student athletes while assisting the athletic department and head coach.                           
  • Recruit qualified student/athletes within the scope of MIAC, NCAA, and university guidelines
  • Individual and team skill development
  • Scouting of team and opponents
  • Assist with budget management
  • Assist with scheduling of practices and competition
  • Assist with day to day practice planning
  • Inventory, order, and maintain necessary equipment
  • Coordinate away event needs
  • Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, and personal matters (when appropriate)
  • Seek professional development opportunities
  • Assist in building, developing, and maintaining contacts and relations with athletic alumni
Essential Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate must:
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be proficient in several software programs, and capable of using game capture video programs
  • Be able to work evenings, weekends, and have the willingness to travel, often on successive weeks and weekends
  • Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Have the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and be detail-oriented
  • Be able to support the administrative functions of the role
  • Have the ability and willingness to recruit quality student-athletes

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • Previous collegiate, club, and/or high school coaching experience preferred
  • NCAA, NAIA, or other related association collegiate hockey playing experience preferred
