An Integration of Academic Apprenticeship and Professional Services

GeoSpatial Services (GSS) is an innovative group of environmental scientists, geographers, spatial analysts, and graduate and undergraduate students. They operate in the field of geographic information science, also known as GIS, specifically on projects related to natural resource management issues.

GSS provides partners with services centered on digital geography, online data hosting, and analysis of natural resource information to meet a wide variety of needs, while also supporting student engagement. As a project center within Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, with offices in Winona and Minneapolis, Minn., GSS works with both public and private sector partners across a broad assortment of markets and disciplines. Operating within a higher education organization allows GSS to engage the academic community’s knowledge base and skills in serving customers.
