Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites applications for Assistant Director of Alumni Relations. The Assistant Director serves as the primary person in the alumni relations office to strengthen the engagement with both our current undergraduate students and recent undergraduate alumni from the Winona campus.

Specifically, the assistant director:

  • Develops and manages a 9-year engagement plan that takes an undergraduate student from their first-year through to their 5-year alumni anniversary. 
  • Serves as the staff advisor to the Future Alumni Committee, working with the club to develop programming (class events, student philanthropy events, etc.) to help engage undergraduate students toward affiliation with the alumni association and Saint Mary’s Fund programming. 
  • Recruits reunion committees for alumni classes celebrating 5, 10, 15, years, and work with these groups on reunion activities specific to their years.  
  • Collaborates with development and alumni relations team to execute social media plans, including developing the campaigns, calendar and postings for the alumni association on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn platforms.
  • Uses Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud Netcommunity CRM platforms to deliver e-communications to recent alumni and student audiences.
  • Develops new programming for undergraduate alumni and students regarding career mentoring and development, in partnership with the career services director.
  • Serves as the staff contact to the undergraduate engagement committee of the alumni board, attending and delivering reports at all alumni board meetings.

Education and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree is required  
  • One or more years of prior college/university alumni relations experience
