Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year term faculty position in the department of Biology, beginning in August 2021. This individual will be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the University, including teaching undergraduate Biology courses and labs, such as General Biology and Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing students; student advising; service on departmental committees; and engagement in research appropriate for undergraduates. At Saint Mary’s, the standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year, and this individual will be expected to teach this load. As per need of the department, the applicant may potentially teach a course in the individual’s subdiscipline.
|Essential Skills and Abilities||
The successful candidate must hold or expect to receive a Ph.D. or terminal degree in a Physiology or Anatomy related program by August 17, 2021. Experience or evidence of potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate Biology is required. Preference will be given to applicants who are able to develop and teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II for Nursing students and have a broad Biology background that provides the foundation for teaching all three sections of our General Biology series. The candidate will be expected to mentor students in research that culminates in a student thesis. The department seeks a colleague interested in collaboration.
