Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for the tenure track faculty position in the School of Education, beginning in August of 2020. The standard teaching load is defined as 22-24 credit hours per contract year, addressing general areas of education and methods courses for secondary teachers and supervision of student teachers primarily in the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program in the School of Education at Saint Mary’s. The faculty member may also teach and supervise student teachers in our Master of Arts in Teaching program or teach courses in the integrated general education program as needed.
|Essential Skills and Abilities||
The successful candidate will have 1) an earned doctorate in education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution; minimum of eight years of teaching in a high school/middle school setting, and a current license in 5-12 or K-12; 2) Knowledge of how to apply research- based best practices in education to serve the needs of future teachers and the students they will serve; and 3) a strong record of excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership.
Candidates must be able to support the Lasallian Catholic mission of the University to awaken, nurture, and empower learners to ethical lives of service and leadership. The School of Education aligns with this mission in the expectation that the faculty member must exhibit a record of teaching that supports a learner-centered approach to education.
