Position Responsibilities

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track, three-year term faculty position beginning in August of 2020. The standard teaching load is 22-24 credit hours per contract year of undergraduate mathematics and statistics classes. Other responsibilities include service to the department and university, and continuing professional development or scholarly activity.  

Essential Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate will hold a graduate degree, Ph.D. preferred, in mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates in the field of applied mathematics or those with an interest in teaching upper-level statistics courses or courses in the computer science curriculum. Preferred qualifications include evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching, excellent communication ability with students and faculty, and experience with the use of technology in teaching mathematics and/or statistics.  
 
Candidates must be able to support the Lasallian Catholic mission of the University to awaken, nurture, and empower learners to ethical lives of service and leadership.

Education and Experience
The successful candidate will:
