Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to design and implement all facets of the training programs for assigned varsity sports. This position will also assist with the training of all other varsity teams. This is a 12-month position that has multiple responsibilities throughout the academic year.

  • Collaborate with the sports medicine staff to develop and implement injury prevention and injury rehabilitation programs for assigned student-athletes. 
  • Teach proper technique and provide supervision and motivation as needed. 
  • Conduct testing to assess student-athlete performance and improvement. 
  • Assist with the development of various educational resources for both coaches and student-athletes. 
  • Collaborate with head coaches to develop year-round training programs to meet the demands of their respective sports.

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health/Exercise Science related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a high school or college setting 
  • Current NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa-SCCC certification
  • Current First Aid, CPR/AED certified
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree 
  • Experience working with Sports Medicine team and return to play protocols 
  • Secondary certifications: USA Weightlifting, Precision Nutrition, RPR, etc.
