Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking an Associate Program Director to support the School of Business and Technology’s administrative operations and academic functions. This position works within a community of professionals dedicated to providing relevant, rigorous, and relational academic experiences for adult learners at the bachelor’s completion, master’s, and doctoral levels. This role works closely with Assistant Deans on responsibilities related to delivering an optimal experience for on-ground and online students.

The Associate Program Director works with faculty, staff, and administrators within the School of Business and Technology to manage program administration including, program operations, faculty coordination, budget management, student communications, events, social media coordination, and new initiatives. This position will play a key role in serving the needs of prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, and other stakeholders. This role also supports the Dean of the School of Business and Technology with special projects related to accreditation, new program launch, and other key initiatives.

Specifically, the Associate Program Director will:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of course scheduling and planning.
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions with students to assist them with degree planning and to provide ongoing support toward their degree achievement.
  • Provide support to course faculty, program directors, and assistant deans to answer course- and program-related questions.
  • Serve as a project manager on accreditation-related activities (data collection, meeting coordination, and other duties).
  • Collaborate with instructors and associate deans on scheduling courses and managing faculty contracts.
  • Support the development of program annual reports and program reviews.
  • Manage collection of news and stories for sharing on program social media sites and blogs.
  • Assist with administration of academic policies as documented in the SGPP Catalog and Student Handbook.
  • Oversee planning and execution of special projects, meetings, and events.
  • Participate in university initiatives and task forces, as assigned.
  • Participate in school and university celebrations including commencements, convocations, and campus events.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in a related field strongly preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a university setting or demonstrated understanding of higher education
  • Program or project management experience
  • Experience working with a variety of different types of stakeholders
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • Student engagement and/or advising experience preferred
