Position Responsibilities

The A/V Support Specialist will provide direct support to end users with an emphasis on the coordination of audio/visual support needs for University events.  In addition, this role will provide backup support for other A/V equipment as needed including, but not limited to, classrooms and conference rooms.

  • Diagnose and resolve first level technical device issues including but not limited to PC, Mac, printer and phone issues
  • Assist with audio/visual support requests
  • Perform minor device repair
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date asset tracking
  • Provide documentation for end users
  • Other duties as assigned
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of analog and digital media connectivity and A/V equipment
  • Knowledge of Mac and PC operating systems
  • Effectively and efficiently use and interpret job related terminology
  • Creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to successfully communicate and interact with a diverse community of faculty, students and staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing time demands
  • Off-hour and weekend support for special events
  • Ability to travel between campus locations on occasion

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of IT experience or an Associate’s degree.  Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field, Certifications (A+, Microsoft, etc.), and experience in Crestron/Extron enterprise control systems.
