Position Responsibilities

The Coordinator of Academic Administration (CAA) provides administrative support for various academic functions within the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs (SGPP) and the University. The CAA serves as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Administrative Assistant, providing overall coordination for its functioning. This position provides support to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Academic Dean in the process of ranking and qualifying faculty, the Annual Program Planning Process, and various initiatives from the office of academic affairs. In addition, this role provides general administrative support to the AVP of Academic Affairs and Academic Dean.

Essential Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate must have:
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; 
  • Highly refined organizational skills; 
  • Experience with and knowledge of IRBs; 
  • Experience with database utilization and technology-driven solutions, including Google Suite and MS Office; 
  • A willingness and ability to learn new technology; and  
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality of data and decisions.
  The successful candidate must support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.
Education and Experience
Required qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience managing complex projects 
  • Experience with IRBs 
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education setting 
  • Master’s degree
