The Graduate School of Health and Human Services at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota invites applications for a half-time, Core Faculty position in the APA-accredited Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology program on the Minneapolis campus. This is a non-tenure track, 12 month appointment, renewable at the dean’s discretion. The half-time position is ideal for a candidate with an active clinical practice or who is active in the psychological community.
The Saint Mary’s University Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology program is a based on a practitioner-scholar model and has two primary training aims: 1) Develop professionally competent graduates prepared to demonstrate commitment to the pursuit of social justice and promote well-being across the lifespan. 2) Produce counseling psychologists who engage in ethical practice with cultural humility and self-reflection.
The Core Faculty position will teach assigned courses, participate in the development and assessment of qualifying examinations, supervise dissertation research, and advise and mentor students in line with the training aims outlined above. Core Faculty are responsible for maintaining the academic integrity of the program and play an essential role in curriculum development and review, supervision and evaluation of students, assessment of program outcomes, and development of program objectives.
|Essential Skills and Abilities||
Composition of courses taught is dependent on the background of the candidate and needs of the program, as determined in consultation with the Program Director. Experience working with various diverse communities and training/experience for the supervision of dissertation research is highly preferred.
