Position Responsibilities

The School of Business and Technology at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota invites applications for course-contracted faculty to support our online M.S. in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics program. Course-contracted faculty are responsible for planning and delivering assigned courses. Program directors and assistant deans work closely with our course-contracted faculty term-by-term to determine courses that are a good fit. All courses are taught outside of regular business hours (evenings, weekends, and online). This is a term-to-term appointment with responsibility to students, course materials, and instruction.

We are seeking qualified applicants possessing current knowledge and/or teaching experience in data science. Courses taught will use a variety of software such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Tableau, R Studio, Python and AWS.  Course material will include tabular and spatial data, advanced analytics and data mining techniques, including text mining, cluster analysis, forecasting, and artificial intelligence.  

It is expected that the instructor will have knowledge in mathematics, computer science, data analysis, communication and ethics. Instructors are expected to focus on practical, hands-on, business-oriented application of course material.

Education and Experience
  • Must have a master’s degree or doctorate in a field related to data science or an out-of-field graduate degree with 10+ years of work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in business and technology disciplines.
