Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University Center, located on historic Park Avenue in Minneapolis, offers six unique banquet and conference rooms to serve small gatherings of 20 to major events for 500 guests. This position will provide excellent customer service to internal and external contacts. This is a part-time position that will work flexible hours and occasional weekends.

The Event Services Associate's responsibilities include:

• Guest Accommodations:  responding to the needs of internal and external clients and guests during events, giving assistance and guidance with presentation media, room environment, and logistics.
• Event Preparation and Take-down:  coordinating room set-up and working with external vendors (e.g., caterers, security guard service, media professionals) to present an excellent guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrates excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a small office environment
• Punctual with good time management skills, can properly discern work priorities
• Available to work flexible hours and occasional weekends
• Possesses a professional manner and collaborative spirit

Education and Experience

• High school degree/GED required,  Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience Considerations:
• Event Planning, Coordination, and/or Supervision
• Restaurant and/or Catering Operations
• Knowledge of Audio and Media Projection Systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Apps, familiar with Adobe Illustrator
