Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach to oversee strength and conditioning duties for all 17 athletic programs. This position develops training and conditioning programs for all varsity athletic programs year-round (in-season and out of season).  

The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is a full time, benefit eligible, year-round position.

  • Monitor fitness equipment, establish inventory, and maintain upkeep in conjunction with university staff. 
  • Collaborate with the medical director and athletic training staff in regards to rehabilitation and injury prevention programming and overall health and safety of all student-athletes.  
  • Oversee the day to day operations including scheduling, unit policies and procedures, and administrative duties.  
  • Keep current with trends and issues within industry and how to integrate them into the role.
  • Provide instruction in safe and effective use of all weight equipment. 
  • Oversee all student workers including hiring and scheduling of the Gostomski fieldhouse.
  • Game support across all athletic program contests.

  • Conduct oneself according to NCAA Division III and MIAC rules and regulations.  
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Previous collegiate, club or high school experience. Three to five years of experience in collegiate, club or high school preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid and AED certified.  
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS).
