Position Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking a HelpDesk Supervisor to ensure that end users receive appropriate support. This position will supervise and mentor the HelpDesk Technical Assistants (HelpDesk TAs). This role will also provide support to end users in-person, email, phone and hands-on to resolve issues.

  • Manage incoming requests to the helpdesk to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues
  • Lead, train, coach and mentor HelpDesk TAs; provide constructive feedback via performance evaluations, promotions, hiring and disciplinary responsibilities
  • Oversee development, implementation, and administration of HelpDesk TAs training procedures and policies
  • Provide in-person, email, phone and hands-on support to end users 
  • Provide level 1 and 2 issue resolution
  • Add and maintain the FAQ lists for end users
  • Ensure that the TA schedule is complete and up to date

  • Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly and adopt new technologies
  • Occasional off-hour and weekend support for special events

Education and Experience

Required qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two+ years of technical experience supporting Desktop, WAN, and LAN equipment  
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Driver’s license
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT related field
  • Certifications (A+, Microsoft)
  • Supervisory experience
