Position Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the daily operations of the mailroom on the Winona Campus. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life, the coordinator manages package tracking, student workers, and mail delivery. 
  • Performs daily operations of the mailroom during the hours of 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., receiving/sorting incoming mail and packages, and distributing such to university offices and departments.
  • Provides work direction and oversight of student workers in the mailroom, including hiring, training, supervision, and scheduling. 
  • Oversees the package management tracking system (WTS) and the parcel locker system (Neopost).
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with USPS and carrier services. 
  • Works collaboratively with different departments to support the needs of the University.
  • Assists the assistant vice president for student life with administrative tasks and special assignments.
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Organized, self-directed, able to follow process and procedure.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Adept at using technology, able to find/enter information in a database.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Task-orientation, with bias for follow up and completion.
  • Able to bend, twist, and stoop and spend majority of shift on foot
  • Able to lift cumbersome packages up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some prior administrative experience is preferred.
