Position Responsibilities
The Master of Arts in Human Resources (MAHR) Program Director works within a community of professionals dedicated to providing relevant, rigorous, and relational academic experiences for Human Resources students in the Twin Cities and online. The Program Director works to ensure program growth, innovation, and vitality through ongoing management of the program and participation in initiatives aligned with the university’s strategic plan. In partnership with the Dean of the School of Business and Technology, the MAHR Program Director will build solid internal and external relationships to ensure collaboration across the university and to strengthen and grow enrollment in the MAHR program. The person in this role must support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary's University as a Lasallian Catholic institution.
 
The MAHR Program Director is accountable for leading all aspects of the program including:
  • Program Administration: Establish enrollment goals, develop recruiting and marketing strategies, manage students throughout the lifecycle, establish the course schedule, and build community relationships to grow awareness of our programs.
  • Curricular Leadership: Manage program quality and relevance by conducting program reviews, assessing learning outcomes, and gathering input from industry and functional experts.
  • Program Innovation: Work with the Dean to identify opportunities for innovation in alignment with the University’s strategic plan.
  • Student Programming and Advising: Develop and execute events designed to build community, provide opportunities for professional development, participate in recruitment events, and work with students on issues, advising, and other inquiries.
  • Faculty Recruitment and Development: Recruit, hire, evaluate, and retain academically and professionally qualified faculty; conduct regular faculty meetings, and identify opportunities for faculty to grow and develop their skills.
  • Professional Development and University Service: Maintain and enhance disciplinary expertise and scholarship, support and advance the University’s Lasallian Catholic mission, heritage and charism through engagement in events and celebrations and participating in University initiatives and taskforces as requested.

  • A collegial spirit that encourages collaboration between students, faculty, and colleagues.
  • Effective interpersonal and supervisory skills in recruitment, performance management, and coaching/counseling.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills with external partners, vendors, and organizations.

Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree is required; doctoral degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least two years of senior leadership experience in business education or in business, preferably within a Human Resources context. 
  • Significant experience in higher education within a business and/or Human Resources discipline is strongly preferred, including teaching, program development, and/or administration; experience with online and on-ground higher education.
