Position Responsibilities
The Field Specialist serves as an ambassador and recruiter for programs within the Graduate School of Education (GSOE), establishing relationships with K-12 school districts, businesses, and community organizations in order to grow enrollment for all programs within the Graduate School of Education.  
This position serves as the official link between Saint Mary's University and external constituents in regions across Wisconsin. The Field Specialist is expected to grow enrollment for Graduate School of Education (GSOE) programs in Wisconsin.
Marketing and Recruiting:
  • Working with the Field Specialist team and Marketing Department, implement targeted marketing strategies to drive enrollment utilizing a variety of methods.
  • Implement strategies to guide prospective students through the admissions process, from inquiry to enrollment, for all programs within the GSOE. This will include talking with prospective students that have inquired or expressed interest, talking with current students looking for the next step in their educational careers, contacting professional colleagues in districts to identify needs and ways that the GSOE might help meet those needs, and working with alumni to spread the word about GSOE opportunities.  
  • Attend marketing and recruiting events.
  • Hold interest meeting(s) in K-12 schools and make arrangements to meet with interested students individually.
  • Utilize CRM to monitor inquiries and applicants in collaboration with Office of Admission staff.
  • Work one-on-one with students to discern appropriate program based upon student interest and need.
  • Attend admissions open houses and info sessions.
  • Initiate contacts as well as build and maintain relationships with K-12 district personnel, community college professionals, and other educational leaders in the community that may benefit from GSOE offerings (i.e., early childhood centers, non-profits, etc.).  
  • Track district and school events, coordinating sponsorship/partnerships when appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in local, regional, and state networking opportunities and events when possible.
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Comfortable with using technology (webcam, google suite) and willingness to learn new technology (CRM system).
  • Comfortable interacting with new people - interested students, professional colleagues in school districts, and alumni to promote GSOE. 
  • Must show evidence of excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently is required.

  • Travel is required throughout Wisconsin and occasionally in the Twin Cities area.

Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree required, preferably in an education related field. 
  • K-12 or higher education experience as an administrator and/or teacher is preferred. 
  • Previous experience with CRM systems desired.
