On-Campus Protocols
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in its guidance for institutions of higher education, advises that, with a population of fully vaccinated individuals, universities may remove masking or physical distancing for people who are fully vaccinated.
The university’s Winona Campus has achieved an overall vaccination rate of 87.5%. The university’s Twin Cities and Rochester campuses have achieved an overall vaccination rate of 88.1%.
As we have done throughout the pandemic, we are closely monitoring information and guidance relating to the omicron variant. Data is indicating that we will see a surge in COVID-19 cases in January 2022. Thus, the university as adopted the following COVID-19 mitigation measures effective December 27, 2021:
- Masks are required inside all university buildings with the exception of a student’s residence hall room.
- Students, faculty, staff, and visitors should observe physical distancing of 6 feet when feasible.
- Everyone should frequently wash their hands with soap and water for 20 second or more.
- Students, faculty, staff, and visitors must comply with all university COVID-19 protocols and with all posted signage.
