Richard Bernardo M.A.

Richard Bernardo, M.A.

Bachelor's Completion Program - Adjunct Assistant Professor

Rick Bernado has worked from coast to coast with diverse communities in the fields of ethics, public health, and communications. He has a B.A. in Modern Science & Religious Studies (Connecticut College, New London CT), and an M.A. in Theology & Ethics from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. Somehow, this lead to him performing a lot of stand-up comedy and music…
So while he was developing statewide education and advocacy projects under Minnesota and California departments of health, he was playing piano, developing radio characters, and acting on stage—though not all at the same time… For instance, he was on ABC-TV’s “America’s Funniest People.” For a full 11 seconds.
In the past few years, Rick ran media and communications for the MN Housing Partnership, and development/marketing for In the Heart of the Beast Theatre. He also presents high-content “performance programs” incorporating music and theatre—not only to inform, but inspire. He created “Spirit Road Radio,” a theatre-of-the-mind “broadcast-journey” to various crossroads of spirituality and social change—for 3 years on AM 950 ( ) and now being developed for weekly broadcast and syndication.
