Dr. Jennifer L. Schultz is an Associate Professor, Core Faculty, in the Doctor of Business Administration program.

Dr. Schultz sails competitively with her family. She enjoys traveling, knitting, and designing knitwear in her free time.

    Workplace social networks, scholarship of teaching and learning, engaged teaching/learning, employee engagement, staffing, recruiting, retention, and other human resource topics.

  • Scholarly & Creative Interests

    Dr. Schultz has an active research and writing agenda focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), formal workplace social networks, and human capital.

    She has presented original research at the Academy of Management Annual Meetings, the Academy of Human Resource Development International Research Conferences in the Americas, the Midwest Academy of Management Annual Meetings, International College Teaching and Learning Conference, and International Applied Business Conference. Her research has been published in the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Business Research YearbookAmerican Journal of Business EducationJournal of Business and Education ResearchJournal of Diversity ManagementJournal of College Reading and Learning, Contemporary Issues in Education Research, and Research & Teaching in Developmental Education.

    She was the recipient of the 2011 Metropolitan State University Antiracism and Diversity Leadership Award. She was Program Chair-elect (2012-13) Program Chair (2013-14) and President (2014-15) for the Midwest Academy of Management.  She serves as an Editorial Review Board Member for the Organization Management Journal and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of College Teaching & Learning.

    In 2019, she was appointed to the Academy of Management Ethics Ombuds Committee to serve as an ombudsperson. She is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and International Ombudsman Association (IOA) trained Ombudsperson.

    Dr. Schultz has 20+ years of experience in collegiate teaching, higher education administration, and business. She has held leadership positions in human resources, sales, marketing, and executive management; including strategic corporate leadership and profit/loss responsibilities at the Vice-President level.
