Susan Doherty, M.A., is an educator and provides consultative services to clients in healthcare, human services, and higher education. She is currently focused in on workforce challenges within the health sector, from hospitals to long term care and community-based services, and initiatives associated with advancing quality improvement across the continuum of care.
As a former corporate public affairs and government relations officer, Susan Doherty, MA, has a background is in public policy, strategic health communication and strategy, and community health improvement/community benefit. She has provided guidance in the areas of federal payment and health policy, state Medicaid redesign, system reform, and professional practice boards and related issues.
Susan has extensive experience in graduate and undergraduate educational programming, including currently serving as faculty for the Master of Arts in Health and Human Services Administration, Saint Mary's University of Minnesota School of Graduate and Professional Programs, where she previously served as the program director (residential, blended and fully online) for several years. She also serves on the faculty for the University of Minnesota and formerly as faculty for North Dakota State University. She is a frequent speaker, lecturer, and facilitator for a variety of associations, health systems, and related organizations.
Susan and her husband, John, enjoy traveling, golfing, biking, boating, and time with their family.
