Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota has generous transfer policies for Argosy students who were affected by the recent campus closure in Eagan, Minn.

Your academic journey is important to us. As you continue making progress toward your educational and employment goals, know that Saint Mary’s faculty and staff are here to answer questions you have about transferring credits. We’re committed to helping you complete your degree. Applications are being accepted immediately for most programs beginning summer semester on May 6, 2019.

Transfer Policies for Argosy Students

(may vary by program)

Bachelor’s completion programs: Up to 92 credits earned at grade of C or better.

Graduate programs: Up to 50% of credits unless otherwise stipulated by program, earned at grade of B or better.

Doctoral programs: Each doctoral program will review student on a case-by-case basis.

Application Process for Argosy Students

The application fee is waived for all applicants. Application review by admissions, registrar, and program director will occur within three business days. Some programs may take longer to review. Students may be admitted conditionally if they do not meet all the academic requirements of their academic program.

Bachelor’s completion applicants (students in bachelor’s programs or associate degree programs who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree):

  • Complete online application form at smumn.edu/apply.
  • Submit all official transcripts issued to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota from all previous institutions attended with a minimum of 30 semester credits with a basic English composition course. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted if official transcripts are not readily available at the time of application.
  • Application deadline is Friday, Aug. 9.

Graduate program applicants:

  • Complete online application form at smumn.edu/apply.
  • Complete personal statement.
  • Submit all official transcripts issued to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota from all previous institutions attended. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted if official transcripts are not readily available at the time of application.
  • Letters of references and résumé are waived if in good standing at previous institution (minimum 3.0 GPA). Some programs may require letters of reference and résumé.
  • Application deadline is Friday, Aug. 9
    (the M.A. in Counseling and Psychology application deadline is Friday, Aug. 2).

Doctoral program applicants:

  • Complete online application form at smumn.edu/apply.
  • Follow the standard admissions process.
  • Unofficial transcripts will be accepted if official transcripts are not readily available at the time of application.
  • Application deadline is Friday, Aug. 9.

Financial Aid for Argosy Students

Follow the standard process for financial aid offerings. Degree-seeking students who are enrolled at least half-time may be eligible for financial aid. Students wishing to use financial aid must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually, which can be found at studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa.
