Stories Former psychology professor to celebrate 90th birthday

George Johnson, John Johnson's brother, is planning birthday party for John, who turns 90 on April 2. John was a professor in psychology, dean, and was involved in the study abroad program at Saint Mary's from 1966 to 2008. He is living in Omaha now. Stories Saint Mary’s student wins national writing contest

Saint Mary's student Leanna Haag was a recent winner in the Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES) Writing Competition. DES is a national scholastic honor society for Catholic universities. Haag tied for first place in the poetry category with her piece "Individual, Season of Fall(ing), Sing to Me of Wonder, Oregon Trail." Congratulations!

During spring break, 48 Saint Mary's students and staff participated in immersion trips expanding their understanding of new cultures and learning innovative ways people are addressing poverty and injustice through community. Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota has delayed opening until noon on the Winona Campus and Rochester Center at Cascade Meadow for today, Monday, Feb. 25, due to weather and road conditions. University employees should not report to work until noon. Essential employees report as scheduled. Employees traveling to campus are urged to use caution and contact their supervisor with any specific concerns.

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota will close the Winona Campus and its Rochester Center at Cascade Meadow Monday, Feb. 25, due to road conditions. There will be no classes in Rochester.
