John Jankord holds Minnesota Licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist; an Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Professional Counselor, and works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using Collaborative, Solution-Focused, and Narrative therapy practices. John obtained his masters degree in counseling psychology from Bethel University and a post masters certificate in marriage and family therapy from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. His clinical experience has included consultation for the challenges and influences of anxiety, depression, premarital and marital/relational building and conflict resolution, divorce, post divorce mediation, domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual compulsivity, substance abuse, recovery after sobriety, and life transitions. John has collaborated with parents developing new skills using the STEP method as well as conducted numerous workshops for couples with relational challenges. John is an instructor and a faculty advisor at the University of Minnesota Family Social Science Department and Addiction Studies Certificate Program as well as a member of the adjunct faculty at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. John also contributed to the book "When Men Grieve" with a section on "Bitterness.”
