Jason Gabel, Ph.D.
MA in Counseling & Psychological Services Program - Adjunct Assistant Professor

Jason Gabel received his Masters in Counseling degree from Arizona State University and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Missouri, and his postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal Medical Center, in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Gabel is currently employed as a staff psychologist at the Federal Medical Center. He evaluates and provides individual and group treatment for federal inmates civilly committed as mentally ill and dangerous. Dr. Gabel’s primary research interests include civil commitment, risk assessment, malingering detection, and inpatient mental health treatment.
