Elaine Johnson, M.A.
Marriage and Family Therapy - Adjunct Program Instructor

Upon completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota, Elaine Johnson worked with Native American youth ages 16-23 on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation for the Young Adult Conservation Corps. It was there that she began working with and obtaining training for drug and alcohol issues. From there she joined the staff of North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Schools - Public School District 622 as Chemical Health Coordinator providing prevention, intervention, and aftercare services to K-12 students and their families for over 20 years. It was here that she saw the impact of untreated mental health issues in the recovery process and entered graduate school at Saint Mary’s University where she obtained her master’s in counseling and psychological services. Since then, she has established and been in private practice for nearly 18 years specializing in chemical use issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, attachment/adoption and other issues for adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
