Commencement Rescheduled

Following further conversation and consultation with our safety and planning committee, we have carefully reviewed the latest developments and concerns regarding our winter graduation commencement ceremony that was scheduled for January 24, 2026.

We are committed to hosting a graduation ceremony that welcomes all students and guests while prioritizing the well-being of every member of our community. In making this decision, we carefully considered the strain on public safety and emergency-response resources across the metro area, particularly in Minneapolis and Hennepin County. We are also concerned about the impact of the frigid weather forecast for the day.

We have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming commencement ceremony at Orchestra Hall. All graduates who were scheduled to participate will be moved to our May commencement celebration on May 30, 2026. No additional action is required at this time unless you hear otherwise. We will send a follow-up message with updated details, including ceremony timing, logistics, regalia information, and guest guidance.

We recognize how deeply disappointing this is. You have worked hard for this milestone, and we were looking forward to celebrating with you and your loved ones.
