Deadlines for Applying
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota – Winona Campus offers "rolling admission" to students applying for admission. As long as there is space and time available for students to be accepted and enrolled, the application process will remain open.
For international first-time freshman and transfer students applying, there are practical issues that will affect how late the application process can remain open. Examples of such issues are: time for students to gather and send all required application documents; time to review completed application; time required to obtain a student visa interview at a U.S. consulate or embassy overseas; time required for visa issuance; and arranging international travel to SMUMN. Here are the deadlines for submitting an application:
* International Freshman: July 1
^ International Transfer: July 1
+ U.S. Transfer: July 20
International Freshman: November 1
International Transfer: November 1
U.S. Transfer: November 15
* An international first-time freshman is a student who has completed his/her secondary school (high school) studies and will be enrolling in undergraduate-level study for the first time.
^ An international transfer is a student who has completed his/her secondary school studies and has taken undergraduate coursework outside the U.S. or its territories
+ A U.S. transfer is an international student who has completed his/her secondary school studies and has taken undergraduate coursework at an academic institution inside the U.S. or its territories.
Note: An international student is someone who does not hold U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent resident (green card), refugee, or asylee status, and does have citizenship /permanent residence in another country. DACA (Dream Act) students should apply using the undergraduate first-time freshman application.
