How are transfer credits evaluated?
We accept credits from accredited institutions of higher education with grades of C– or higher. The registrar will prepare an official report listing all approved transfer credits.
What is the application deadline for transfer students?
We accept transfer applications year-round! Apply whenever you’re ready to take the next step toward becoming a Cardinal.
Do I need to submit SAT/ACT scores?
No. Saint Mary’s is test optional. You’re welcome to submit scores if you wish, but admission and merit-based scholarships are determined by your GPA, not test results.
Can I transfer from a community college or another four-year school?
Yes and yes! Apply, send us your transcript(s), and we’ll be happy to review your application.
Is there a new student orientation for transfer students?
Yes. The Student Success Center team will reach out to you with details about orientation, move-in, and first-week programming.
What about housing?
We’d love to have you live on campus! Housing options range from single rooms to apartment-style living. You’ll be placed with students of a similar age and interests whenever possible. Housing is completed through the eRezLife system and can be arranged once you submit your deposit.
