The website relaunch is today. As stated in the State of the Union update, we did a soft launch in August, which we needed to do to identify significant development issues and address them with our external partner. While they corrected back-end errors, our web team — Scott VanderVeer along with Lindsey Theis, who joined us just last month — made more than 600 bug fixes and improvements across the site in the last four weeks. This was a heavy…
We continue to amplify the Saint Mary’s brand in the market via radio, billboards, print advertising, and social media in the metro area and Winona. In fact, in the month following the launch of brand ads, we have had 2,225 new users (versus return users) come to the website from organic search and direct traffic. This increase of 36% over the same period last year indicates that our messages are having the impact we expected in driving awareness and interest.…
We are just two days away from unveiling the New Saint Mary’s website. This site will support our enrollment efforts and offer prospective students a new way to see, experience, understand, and — most importantly — choose Saint Mary’s. This website redesign has been a top priority for the Marketing and Communication team — and the university — and we have been hard at work on it for close to a year. As we launch this week, please know this…
Since we shared the most recent information about the rebrand and its rollout in an earlier Cardinal Update this month, the Marketing and Communications Department has received some great questions, some of which have led to small changes in a few of the brand visuals. Thank you for your questions, your continued support, and your brand advocacy! And, please, keep them coming. Send your questions and comments to Lisa Guyott, associate vice president of marketing and communication. Resources that provide…
“Your brand is a gateway to your true work… When you create a compelling brand you attract people who want the promise of your brand – which you deliver.” –Coach Dave Buck After a year of work on Saint Mary’s University’s rebrand effort, we are rolling it out now and want to share how we are launching and provide background and resources for you. Given the summer months and schedules, we are planning education and celebration activities at the start…
Since the university first began work on our new website in spring 2021, much of the most critical work on this project has occurred in the background, including extensive research into prospective student needs; identifying technical requirements; auditing our current website for content; and working with faculty and staff to identify priorities. In the past few months, however, we have moved beyond the planning stage and are now in the process of putting all our findings into action. The most…
Drs. Kathryn LaBore and Marina Rosenthal have received an Institutional Courage Research Grant to explore how institutions like universities engage in institutional betrayal related to systemic forms of oppression experienced by their members. Institutional betrayal involves action or inaction on the part of an institution that makes something that is already harmful – such as discrimination – even worse. Drs. LaBore and Rosenthal’s research will also examine specific ways that institutions may respond to accusations of wrongdoing or oppression by denying, attacking,…
The Marketing and Communication team is making great strides on our brand refresh and web redesign project thanks to the wonderful support and ongoing feedback from many individuals across Saint Mary’s community. You may notice refreshed signage around campus. Various signs have been created by the designers in the Marketing and Communication Department to help students, faculty, staff, and visitors follow guidelines to keep each other healthy and safe. Download and print University employees can use these signs to customize directional, informational, and instructional signage in their office, area, or building. Visit the Marketing and Communication intranet site to view, download, and print the signs you need.
