Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education: World Language and Culture: Spanish Endorsement

Teach the second most spoken language in the U.S.

Experts predict that the U.S. will be the world’s second-largest Spanish speaking country by 2060. As a Spanish teacher, you play a pivotal role in empowering the next generation to excel in both the professional arena and the business world, fostering effective communication for building meaningful personal relationships through the Spanish language.

In addition to pursuing Minnesota licensure to teach students in grades K-6, you also have the opportunity to acquire a Spanish endorsement for teaching at the elementary or middle school level in grades K-8.

Rooted in experiential learning, our program at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota ensures language mastery and provides insights into diverse Spanish-speaking cultures and communities. Explore the history and literature of the Spanish-speaking world while being introduced to teaching best practices and discovering your preferred teaching style.

Extend your knowledge beyond the classroom through study abroad or domestic arranged experiences. These opportunities enhance language skills and foster an appreciation and understanding of other cultures. Consider our cultural immersion programs in Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Spain, or within the U.S.

Share your passion for Spanish culture, history, and language with the next generation of learners. Apply to our program and discover a world of opportunities for you and your future students. The world will be a better place. Because of you.
