Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education: Life Science/Biology

Examine our living world with students about to enter it as adults.

Within our secondary education major, you have the option to pursue the life science/biology licensure to become a life science or biology teacher in Minnesota, teaching 5-12 graders key aspects of biology, zoology, and general science.

Our curriculum includes courses in cellular and molecular biology, form and function of animals and plants, ecology, human anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. You’ll explore topics like how to identify plants and animals, population genetics, the functions of the human body system, and kinesiology. Lab work is a pivotal component, providing invaluable hands-on experiences in our state-of-the-art labs, guided by our dedicated and supportive faculty.

Our professors are devoted to helping you grasp the role of biology in today’s world, enabling you to inspire students and contribute to a world enriched by scientific curiosity. We are all in, every day. Because of you.
