Stigma, provider attitudes, language, and systemic barriers can shape whether people engage in substance use disorder treatment and remain connected to care. Join Saint Mary’s alumna Samantha Stroik, Psy.D., L.P. for “Hope in Recovery: Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed Approaches to Substance Use Disorder Treatment.” Grounded in person-centered, trauma-informed, and harm-reduction approaches, this session offers practical strategies for fostering meaningful recovery. A 2024 alumna, Dr. Stroik has a certification in Perinatal Mental Health and is the director of Clinical Services at Reed Behavioral Health in Plymouth, Minn.
This session is part of Saint Mary’s Psy.D. Alumni Leaders Speaker Series.
The series is an affordable continuing education opportunity featuring graduate leaders from the Psy.D. in Counseling Psychology program and highlights licensed psychologists working across a range of clinical, consultation, assessment, and leadership settings.
