Chartwells provides Easter dinners for wider community

Back in 2004, Curt Coshenet, director of food services at Saint Mary’s University, and Sandra Burke from Winona Volunteer Services began partnering on free Easter dinners. This year, for safety, those dinners were all delivered.

On Easter Sunday, Chartwells (Saint Mary’s dining service) prepared and boxed 265 Easter dinners for shut-ins and others in need in the Winona area (in addition to preparing an Easter feast for our own Saint Mary’s students).

The cost of the food and preparation was done by Chartwells. No one is charged for this traditional ham dinner.

Thanks to everyone, including chef Jim Esser, who helped feed our community and make Easter happier for so many.

KTTC-TV from Rochester covered this event.
