Associate professor Dr. Kirsten Lind Seal recently appeared on WCCO’s Relationship Reboot segment to discuss the difference between hope and optimism. She spoke about a study conducted in Australia that examined the role of individual agency in hope, explaining that unlike optimism, hope involves the determination to make things better. Dr. Lind Seal is a frequent guest on Relationship Reboot and has discussed other psychological topics on the segment.

Dr. Lind Seal was also recently awarded the 2025 Best Story Award by Psychotherapy Networker magazine for a story she contributed. She was featured in “I’ve Got Nothing to Talk About: How to Work with Tight-Lipped Clients,” which won the Best Story Award in the Practice Tips category.
